Melalui Program Kemendikbud Dikti, Mahasiswa Pertanian UNSIKA Kembangkan Edu-Agrowisata
KARAWANG – Mahasiswa Pertanian UNSIKA melakukan pengabdian dengan membuat Edu-Agrowisata melalui program Kemendikbud Dikti (PHP2D) yang dimulai pada bulan Agustus 2021 hingga Desember 2021, program tersebut dilaksanakan di Desa Lemahmulya, Kecamatan Majalaya, Kabupaten Karawang.
Kegiatan yang dilaksanakan merupakan program hasil diskusi dengan pihak desa dan masyarakat setempat. Edu-Agrowisata yang akan dibentuk terdiri dari beberapa komponen di dalamnya yakni, pembuatan rumah burung hantu di beberapa titik lahan sawah yang bertujuan untuk menjadi musuh alami hama tikus.
Membuat pola tanam polikultur antara padi dan tanaman jagung di pematang sawah serta menanam tanaman hortikultura yaitu kangkung di lahan kosong yang berada di sekitar lahan padi.
Selain itu juga memanfaatkan irigasi sawah untuk budidaya ikan dimana nantinya kotoran ikan dapat dialirkan ke lahan sebagai pupuk organik untuk padi. Lalu untuk memperindah lahan pertanian juga ditanami tanaman refugia di sepanjang jalur irigasi yang berguna sebagai inang musuh alami hama wereng dan hama lainnya.
Selain itu, dalam upaya mendukung terbentuknya Edu-Agrowisata selanjutnya akan dibuat papan-papan informasi mengenai komponen yang ada agar para pengunjung tidak hanya mendapat nilai estetika juga mendapatkan pengetahuan.
Selain petani, program ini juga bekerja sama dengan para peternak domba yang akan dilibatkan dalam proses pembuatan biourine.
Biourine merupakan pupuk sekaligus pestisida organik yang terbuat dari urine domba.
“Program ini bagus sekali dan cocok diterapkan di Desa Lemahmulya melihat dari potensi yang ada serta dilihat dari antusiasme petani setempat” ujar Kurnia, Ketua Gapoktan Citra Sembada, Kamis (12/09/2021).
Dede Pramiadi Asmara, Kabid Dinas Pariwisata dan Kebudayaan Kabupaten Karawang mengatakan dengan adanya Program Edu-Agrowisata dapat menjadi banyak akan menjadi daya tarik wisatad Desa Lemahmulya.
“Program ini sangat menarik, kami melihat potensi yang ada di Desa Lemahmuya, kalau memang bisa dikembangkan burung hantu menjadi banyak akan menjadi daya tarik wisata” ujar Dede.
Sementara, Kepala Desa Lemahmuya Cecep Makmur Wahyudi mengungkapkan kebanggaannya pada mahasiswa serta meminta para masarakat yang terlibat untuk ikut turut antusias demi kelancaran program.
“Diharapkan dengan adanya program ini masyarakat, petani, peternak domba serta aparat desa setempat mampu mengelola Edu-Agrowisata sebagai salah satu cara mendapatkan penghasilan tambahan serta sebagai upaya meningkatkan keanekaragaman hayati dan meningkatkan hasil panen,” katanya. (rls)
